I am all for looking for intelligent life out there since we can’t find any here. Oh, wait, dolphins. So yeah there is intelligent life here. But is it anywhere else? Are there highly advanced beings on other planets?
I think we can all agree that the probability of planets having some sort of sustainable life is pretty high. And of all those it does seem rather probable some of them would have intelligent life. And some of those would be technologically advanced.
But then we get the Fermi Paradox
As in, where are all the damn aliens?
is the apparent contradiction between the lack of evidence and high probability estimates[1] for the existence of extraterrestrial civilizations.[2] The basic points of the argument, made by physicists Enrico Fermi (1901–1954) and Michael H. Hart (born 1932), are:
- There are billions of stars in the galaxy that are similar to the Sun,[3][4] and many of these stars are billions of years older than the Solar system.[5][6]
- With high probability, some of these stars have Earth-like planets,[7][8] and if the Earth is typical, some may have developed intelligent life.
- Some of these civilizations may have developed interstellar travel, a step the Earth is investigating now.
- Even at the slow pace of currently envisioned interstellar travel, the Milky Way galaxy could be completely traversed in a few million years.[9]
According to this line of reasoning, the Earth should have already been visited by extraterrestrial aliens. In an informal conversation, Fermi noted no convincing evidence of this, leading him to ask, “Where is everybody?”[10][11] There have been many attempts to explain the Fermi paradox,[12][13] primarily either suggesting that intelligent extraterrestrial life is extremely rare or proposing reasons that such civilizations have not contacted or visited Earth. (Wikipedia,Yeah I wiki’d that)
So we can think,
- yeah, maybe they are just not that into us
- Maybe they cannot traverse great distances and we would all rather be spread out
- That maybe a lot of those advanced societies crashed before they ever had a chance to get anywhere. Because technological societies crash and burn the easiest.
- Maybe they have visited and the general population isn’t aware of it
UFO’s
UFO’s are a really pickle of a puzzle. They are Unidentified Flying Objects… as in literally unidentified. And there are strong sources out there who said they have seen them. In the Navy, in the Airforce. General pilots. And sightings so large many, many people saw the same thing.
So it could very well be that we have been visited by aliens now or in the past.
Why don’t we know about it?
Not too long ago the governments started shutting down this information and blaming it, poorly, on other random things. Big old methane farts. Or weather balloons. Or ‘What that? That is just an optical illusion created from the birds reflecting light from street lights… weird, eh?’ They never say ‘ah, we have no clue what the hell that was.’
So we can conclude from that:
- They are very aware of these UFOs, also have no idea what they are, and think it is a massive defense issue to find out and also keep everyone in the dark
- They have found crashed ships and aliens and are in the know, but they get new technology from this.
- They are completely in the know, as in they had contact already, and this policy of ‘nope that was nothing’ is to keep the general public in the dark.
- Or they have no clue what the phenomena is and have a really, really hard time actually saying that.
What do I think?
Well, to be honest I do not write science fiction so I haven’t really thought about it that much.
What I think is this… alien UFOs that come here are actually ourselves after years of fucking around with our genes in the future. They come back to want to guide us in specific ways technologically to fix a problem in their timeline. Like maybe GMO caused massive infertility and they are dying out. Or the climate change is nothing we are concerned with as a society and they want us to get at it because their world is fried.
They are in ships because once you transport yourself into the timeline… the earth isn’t necessarily there anymore, as it moves, you know. So they need a ship to get to the earth at its current location.
BOOM solved that.
But aliens may not be such a great thing hanging around our planet
- They may look like giant bugs and no one wants to see that
- They may be eyeing up our resources, but since they have their own resources, the resource they are eyeing up is us. And that wouldn’t be cool at all
- If they are as erratic and violent as humans, well, that could leads to some war
- And if we needed to defend ourselves we couldn’t because clearly they would be far more advanced than us
- Also, oops, they take over the world and we are all slaves
- Or on a positive note they give us a bunch of technology… which we then use to wage war on other people, because that is what we do, and accidently blow up the planet
- One of them comes to say hello in first contact, but he has a cold, and this alien virus spreads like a plague that we cannot treat with a massive death toll.
Then there is the theory that aliens have always been here. And they helped us create everything that we are proud as humans to have created. Every pyramid, for sure, was them. And they created us. Like an alien/human hybrid. Why would they do that, you ask? Because they needed slaves. Or conversely they are having some genetic problem of their own and are waiting for us to evolve so they can harvest us and cure themselves. I have to say if aliens are that involved in our history and our nature, then we are screwed. That is an alien race looking to rule us peons.
So just saying that believing in alien life in other planets is reasonable but we really do not want them to come knocking on our door with their super flus and mass slavery plans, now do we?

Are you sure you’re not a fictional character?
Hmmm… They may take us. They always return us. What does that say about intelligent life on “Earth”? Damn, we are slow learners. Well done!
